COULD STOP THESE CUTS!!

Think the budget is done? Not yet!

Before the final ugly bill was passed, Trump proposed cutting $9 billion in already-approved funding—including money for public media.

Here are the proposed cuts:

$1.1 billion clawed back from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB)—which funds NPR, PBS, and about 1,500 local public radio and TV stations

This includes $535 million slated for FY 2026 and another $535 million for FY 2027 .

SCRIPT

Hi, my name is [Your Name], and I’m calling to ask Representative [Last Name] to oppose the proposed rescission that would cut $1.1 billion from public broadcasting.

These cuts would devastate local radio and TV stations—especially in rural and underserved communities. Public media is essential for education, emergency alerts, and civic connection.

Please protect funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and support any amendments that remove this harmful cut.

Thank you.
