Russell Vought, a key author of Project 2025, is pushing an Office of Management and Budget rule that could severely damage American science and federally funded research.

Stand Up for Science helped generate nearly 17,000 public comments and tens of thousands of calls and emails opposing the rule. That pressure helped secure Senate language delaying its implementation—a major victory.

But the fight is not over. Vought intends to move forward when the new fiscal year begins October 1, 2026.
